Lost Lutino Cockatiel - Vienna, Virginia - June 7, 2008

Lost Lutino Cockatiel on June 7, 2008 -- light yellow with yellow plume and bright orange cheeks. Her name is Sami, she has no ring. Lost in forest off Meadowlark Road and Wind Haven Way in Vienna, VA near Meadowlark Gardens Park.

She is very loving and friendly and responds to her name, soft kind speaking voice and to whistles. She loves water crackers and millet. And responds to crinkling of cellophane bags as looking for a snack.

To Robyne -- our utmost gratitude for your compassionate rescue of Sami. We cannot THANK YOU enough! And thanks to parrotsnow.com for your wonderful & easily accessible website - making it so easy for Robyne to contact us.
Sami spent yesterday morning at the vets. She had all the tests, a bath and her nails clipped. The vet said that she didn't seem to have any problems except that she's just exhausted. She and her sister, Salli, were tucked in early and got a good night sleep.
Sami seems more energetic today -- she eat some apple cinnamon oatmeal with her dad this morning and has a great appetite. Salli and Sami are together again & absolutely loving it! Two sweet sisters chirping together again!!!!

I found Sami outside my office building last night. It was a challenging capture since I’m not familiar with birds and never even held a bird before yesterday. I brought her home in a shipping box and was able to find her owners by searching for “lost bird Vienna VA” and this website and listing came up instantly. There was a wonderful reunion last night and it was very obvious that Sami was delighted to see her owners again. I may have eventually been able to locate Ellen and Rob by calling Vets and pet stores; however the chances of finding them would have been slim. You have a great website and happy ending all around.
