Hello,

I am a volunteer with 911 Parrot Alert, an international group dedicated to reuniting lost companion birds with their people. Your parrotsnow.com ad has been cross-posted to our 911 Parrot Alert lost and found bird database. We have over 30,000 listings for lost and found birds, organized by location, type and date. This is a free service provided by volunteers with a passion for parrots.

Please understand, the more you do right now the better chances of getting your bird back. If people know your bird is missed and loved they may feel compelled to return your bird if they have found it.

Please complete the Lost Bird form at: http://www.911parrotalert.com/LostBirdReport.html. Return it to this email or to lostbirds@911ParrotAlert.com. With this information we can help watch for 'found bird' ads that come in your area.

Our site includes a list of resources, where you can search for matching "found' birds in your area, or post a "lost" ad for your bird. Also included is a list of tips for finding your lost parrot. http://www.911parrotalert.com/HelpfulTips.html <--Every single thing there is VERY important to do.

Please feel free to visit our site & sign up for the 'yahoo group' to search our database for possible 'found' matches to your bird. Lost and found birds are added day and night. Members receive email notifications several times a day of all birds lost & found each day. Make sure to choose "daily digest" when you sign up. This is a free service. http://www.911parrotalert.com/SearchDatabase.html

Don't give up, birds are often reunited after several weeks, even months. Wishing you the best of luck! Please let us know if we may be of assistance, and please also share the good news when the bird has been reunited.

Best Regards,

Diana Rae, Volunteer

found my baby
by: Hazel Williams

Well all I am very blessed. I was lying in my bed wondering if Popi would fly back into the cage to eat. (I put the cage outside with all flaps open. and lots of food). When I awoke in the morning (6a). I looked and no Popi. So I whistled like I normally do and called him like I normally do when coming home in the morning or evenings, depending on my shift that month, and wow!!!!! I heard him answer me back. So I kept doing it and he kept doing it. I got out my camera with zoom lens... (No binoculars...) and I found him in the tree holding on to that branch with his short legs. I went into the house put on my long sleeve shirt, Jeans, boots, and gloves... (Getting ready to get into the swamp. Forrest is what I call it) to get my baby. Mind you I am not as young as I use to be, but I was climbing those trees for my baby. So I did. and kept calling him and talking to him and he kept talking to me...squawking. Like I am hungry squawking that he does. Not the kind like I am glad to see you. (He must love the free air). A friend of mine stopped by and help actually had to pull a couple of trees out down to get him. Well we got him…and of course I took him straight into the house put him in the cage, and he ate so much I thought he was going to be sick. Then he got on the cage door. And talked to me singing tone this time. like he was glad to see me.. I am so blessed…I don’t know it if is the training I am doing from us talking (Whistle tones he cannot really talk). Or that he has short legs but he has his wings. Or just the Great man above. God knowing I would be sick of wondering about my baby. So now that we know we have a neighbor who has a cat, no outside for popi free roaming on my shoulder just yet.

Thank you all for those in the Lithonia area who may have been keeping a light lit for my popi to come home. He is and still Popi.
