ParrotsNow News, #13 -- What's New... November 16, 2005 |
| Hello November 17, 2005 Once again, it's been a while since last newsletter, I'll explain that some below. But there's a lot packed into this issue. We have gotten a LOT more Lost and Found Parrot notices! More on that below too. And... This issue announces a very easy to enter new contest. Read on....
Enjoy,
CONTENTS 1. Where have I been? 2. New Lost and Found Postings 3. New Contest 4. On the Fly... Note: For all links within the newsletter, you need to be connected to the internet. If pictures do not show up, you can go through the link at the bottom of this newsletter, to view newsletter online.
1. Where Have I Been?I have tended to keep these newsletters very "parrots related" and have not said much personal about myself. I'm not sure why, since I've developed some great relationships with some subscribers, mainly through email. I do love hearing from you. And I do get behind in answering personal messages, but know that I appreciate them.I do spend a lot of time in adding new Lost Parrot notices, and corresponding with those people. (More about that below.) That's part of the reason I don't get these newsletters out more. More recently ...and here it does get a bit more personal, but you deserve to know why there were some delays in getting orders out, and responding to your emails, and in getting this newsletter out.... A'Lona and I spent several weeks out of town, about 12 hours away, with my Mom who passed away Oct 5 after about a week and a half in the hospital. Tough times, but in a way, quite joyous too. I did get to spend some great quality time with her. And until she went into the hospital, at 93, she was quite active, playing bridge and bingo, and out to eat often. If I can make it that long, with her optimism, I too will have a very full life. Still catching up from that, but it feels good to be back with our Parrots. And back to work too! -Jim 2. New Lost and Found PostingsOne of the things that keeps me very busy, is adding and keeping track of all the Lost and Found notices that come in! Please take a few minutes to read through the stories on our most recent postings.
This is the most recent.... And this page also has recent listings, some from November.... http://www.parrotsnow.com/lostandfound-3.html The stories are certainly touching. But they have some important lessons for all Parrot owners too. If you have lost a parrot, be sure to check the listings, even though there are more "lost" posts than "found" ones. The latest, as I write this, sent in a couple days ago, is an Amazon found in July. Many from the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This is the biggest growing part of ParrotsNow, but it's our pleasure to offer this service. Hopefully we can continue to bring together, lost birds with lost owners. Please take a few minutes and read the stories. If you are one of the many that sent in a story, know that we will do our best, in the quickest possible way, to help reunite your lost bird with you. 3. New ContestLet's just do a nice easy one! Find the form at.... http://www.parrotsnow.com/contactus.html 4. On the Fly....Here's one thing I can't resist making available to you. It was originally to be only for subscribers to my web-audio-now.com newsletter, but I offered it to subscribers of my JuggleNow newsletter, so it wouldn't be fair if I didn't let you know about it ;-) So if you have a web site, I'll let you in on this too....You probably know how valuable audio can be on a web site. And one of the proven best products to add audio is Sonic Memo. I've acquired the rights to offer this directly from my site, and for a very limited time, I am offering it at almost 1/3 off the regular price. I'll leave it available for you for only about a week, but can't promise it will be available much longer. And it's only a one-time cost, not one of those monthly fees. And it's the latest version - Sonic Memo Pro - updated after Sonic Memo 3. See more at.... http://sonic-memo-audio.com/ If you use, or want to use audio on your site, I hope you'll take advantage of this very special offer. And here's just a fun site I have.... http://buy-jim-a-drink.com I made it for fun, and there are only a couple people there so far. If you'd like to "buy me a drink" great, but certainly don't feel obligated. If you do happen to decide to do that, I will make a protion of that available to a memorial that I'm doing for my Mom. In fact, if you get Sonic Memo Pro above, I will use a protion of that for the Memorial too!
And if you're looking to build your own website, I'd have to suggest using what we at ParrotsNow have used....
Don't forget to enter the contest.
Taking flight ...for now,
Jim & A'Lona
