1. Help - Lost ParrotWe've just received a request for help in finding a lost African Grey!
Please help us find our African Grey “Smokey” who flew away from home (Santa Monica Mountains/Malibu Canyon area) on June 20th, 2004. He’s a year old, has a white face, grey body, and red tail. He also has a silver band around his leg, with which we can identify him. Smokey’s quite a talker – he knows his name and a variety of other phrases he’s picked up. Please help us find him, my mom is devastated without him. We’re offering a $1000 reward for his return. If you’ve seen or found him, or know of anyone who has, please contact ParrotsNow.
Thank you,
If you know anything about Smokey, please let us know right away, (and we'll let Angie know immediately) by calling Jim Nelson at 859-380-7460. Or you can email us at
parrots@parrotsnow.com

5. On the Fly....A Parrot TipTrim TimeWe have been receiving a few heart breaking stories about pet birds that have been lost. The most recent one is included in this newsletter. We cannot begin to stress the importance on keeping your bird’s wings, beak, and nails trimmed. This should be done every 4 months. A good bird vet will be able to help you with this. It does not take much for your beloved bird to find out they can fly. There are several reasons to keep them trimmed.... We have heard a number of stories about birds that were injured flying around the house. They can hit the wall, run into a window, or even fly into the toilet. Most of the stories we receive are about birds that have gotten out the door when someone is coming or going, and in a split second they are gone. We do have a lost & found page with several stories posted from people who have either lost their beloved bird or of kind people who have found one and are searching for their rightful owner. Please feel free to check it out, maybe you can help one of these lost birds find their family. They are all very touching stories! Read the article in this issue, and visit our lost & found web page.

Watch for another issue of ParrotsNow News coming soon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And if you're looking to build your own website, I'd have to suggest using what we at ParrotsNow have used.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One more thing, before we leave.... I've been featured in a new ebook that's just recently been released! I am one of "ten highly successful Netrepreneurs" who are interviewed in a new book, "Success Alert," by John Evans... The part in it about me, is mainly related to my JuggleNow site, but there are some great mentions of ParrotsNow too! It's modestly priced, but even if you don't want to get this well written book, at least look at the page - you'll see me (Jim Nelson) featured there. And, if you are looking for a little inspiration from those who have "been there, done that, and won"... the whole book is a great read. Note: You'll find me listed as "Conversation Seven - Jim N" along with a picture of me with Bubba, my Amazon! If you do decide to get the book through my link above, let me know what you think, and I'll send along a treat for your Parrot! Enjoy! (But you will need to get it through the above link to get the "treat." Just email me after you've gotten it.)
Send along Your Bird Stories and favorite Pictures. We'd be glad to include them on parrotsnow! (Note: There are still some pics you've sent in, that haven't gotten on the site yet, but I'm working on it.)
Taking flight ...for now,
Jim & A'Lona
