As you can see we have once again added to our flock.... We would like to introduce Lucy, our Blue and Gold Macaw. She is 6 years old. Lucy was hand fed and raised by a wonderful man for 6 years, but he unfortunately had to move to a smaller place and needed to down size, so once again he called us. We got Bubba and Beckett from the same guy, and he also hooked us up with Addy.
Lucy was nice enough to help pick the winners (as you'll see) for our contest where you sent in you bird's name for a chance to win a parrot piņata. Sorry it took us so long to get to the winners, and thank you for your patience.
We still have the contest to name Jordan's bird. (And it has been named.) We will have the winner of that in our next newsletter.

On the Fly....A Parrot TipSome of you may already know that the use of non-stick coated cookware around birds is not a good idea. The non-stick coated pans let off toxic fumes when over heated and is unhealthy for the bird's respiratory system, and may cause the death of your bird. It probably says this in the fine print that comes with the cookware, but many of us don't bother to read that. But. It IS important. So if you are still using them now is the time to go out and buy uncoated pans, not an easy thing to do, we are still after 2 years trying to get the hang of cooking in them, but is well worth trying for the health of our beloved flock. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hope you enjoyed this issue. Don't forget to enter the contest, to win a Treat for your feathered friend. Watch for another issue of ParrotsNow News coming soon.
Send along Your Bird Stories and favorite Pictures. We'd be glad to include them on parrotsnow! (Note: There are still some pics you've sent in, that haven't gotten on the site yet, but I'm working on it.)
Taking flight ...for now,
